Whatever stage your business is at, Peter’s got a program just right for you.

What’s Your Perspective of Time?
Imagine a bank that credited your account with $86,400 every day. Each night, the bank cancels whatever is left in the account… whatever you failed to use during the day.
What would you do? Surely you would strive to spend every cent, every day!
Everybody has such a bank… it is the bank of ‘TIME’.
Every morning the time the bank deposits 86,400 seconds in your account;
Every night it’s gone; every cent.
Your balance is never carried over, no matter what the excuse and you have no overdraft;
Each day a new account is opened;
Each night the bank’s records are destroyed.
You alone, keep records of your equity; your experiences & knowledge;
If you fail to use the funds wisely, the loss is yours;
So what proportion of your time are you ‘spending’, ‘wasting’, or investing?
If the unthinkable happened to you, would you be happy with the ratio of spending vs investing? How would your ‘balance sheet’ look?
To get the full appreciation of time, I find it helps to break it down into smaller chunks. So rather than thinking, “did I use 2014 to good use?” Ask, “what was my ROI at this last minute and what will it be next minute?”
You see, how you perceive time and its value, is defined by you and your experiences alone; they define your ‘perspective’.
- To realise the value of one millisecond… ask the person who won ‘silver’ at the Olympics.
- To realise the value of one second… ask someone who just survived an accident.
- To realise the value of one minute… ask the person who just missed their plane.
- To realise the value of one hour… ask the person waiting to meet their new lover.
- To realise the value of one day… ask the labourer on a simple wage who has five children to feed.
- To realise the value of one week… ask a prisoner due for release in seven days.
- To realise the value of one month… ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
- To realise the value of one year… ask a student who just failed their exams.
- To realise the value of a lifetime… ask a retired business owner, who didn’t realise he could have done better, until it was too late.
Can you hear your watch ticking? It’s time to invest…
